Post Name: Senior Resident (Psychiatry)
Number of Posts: 01 (One)

Employment Type: Temporary (Contractual - Initially for 1 year, extendable up to 3 years)
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide patient care in outpatient and inpatient settings
- Psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations
- Treatment planning and medication management
- Emergency psychiatric services
- Counseling and psychotherapy sessions
- Teaching and training of undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Participation in ward rounds and clinical meetings
- Research activities and academic presentations
- Maintaining medical records and documentation
Educational Qualification
Essential Qualification:
- MD in Psychiatry from a recognized medical college/university
- OR
- DNB (Diplomate of National Board) in Psychiatry
- OR
- Other recognized post-graduation qualification equivalent to MD in Psychiatry
- Must be registered with Medical Council of India (NMC) / State Medical Council
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in tertiary care hospital psychiatry department
- Research publications in psychiatry
- Additional certifications or training in specific psychiatric areas
- Experience in emergency psychiatry
Age Limit
Maximum Age: 40 years as on the closing date of application (25th January 2026)
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST Candidates: 5 years
- OBC Candidates: 3 years
- PwD Candidates: 10 years (15 years for SC/ST PwD)
- Ex-Servicemen: As per Government of India rules
- Experience Relaxation: Candidates with relevant experience in the field may get age relaxation as per AIIMS rules
Salary and Benefits
