Qualification
- Permanent resident of Assam.
- LP (Paper I): As per NCTE norms (e.g., HSSLC/equivalent with required % + 2-year D.El.Ed / 4-year B.El.Ed / other permitted combinations).
- UP (Paper II): As per NCTE norms (e.g., Graduation + 2-year D.El.Ed or Graduation with required % + B.Ed / other permitted combinations).
- Medium: Candidate should have proficiency in the selected Language-I (Bodo/Garo/Manipuri/Hmar).

Government of Assam (Department of School Education) has released the Special Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (TET)-2026 for Lower Primary (Classes I–V) and Upper Primary (Classes VI–VIII) levels for Bodo, Garo, Manipuri and Hmar medium schools. Online applications are accepted through the SEBA/ASSEB portal. Apply from 07-01-2026 (11:00 AM) to 07-02-2026 (05:00 PM). Last date for fee payment is 10-02-2026. Note: Qualifying TET does not guarantee a job; recruitment will be a separate process.
